Il Salone degli Stemmi

La grande sala, che si affaccia sulla piazza e la domina dall’alto presenta due serie di stemmi di Vicari, alcuni più antichi e frammentari al di sopra di una cornice in finta pietra, come i Pitti (fasciato innestato d’argento e di nero), i Pandolfini (d’azzurro a tre delfini natanti, posti uno sull’altro), i Mazzinghi, rappresentati da una figura femminile con i seni ben pronunciati ed altri anonimi. In alcuni punti compare il Delfino Rosso simbolo di Pescia. Sotto la cornice corre invece una fascia continua dipinta con altri stemmi di Vicari succedutisi tra il 400 e il 700. In varie epoche gli stemmi dei Vicari erano stati dipinti in modo casuale sulle pareti della sala, poi, in occasione dei lavori che interessarono il palazzo a partire dal 1719, all’epoca del Vicario Giovanni Gori, si volle dare agli stessi, ridipingendoli sul nuovo intonaco, un certo ordine.

The large room, which overlooks the square and dominates it from above, has two series of coats of arms of Vicars, some older and more fragmented above a faux stone frame, such as the Pitti (fasciato grasciato in silver and black), the Pandolfini (in blue to three dolphins, placed on top of each other), the Mazzinghi, represented by a female figure with well-pronounced and other anonymous. In some places appears the Red Dolphin symbol of Pisces. Under the frame runs instead a continuous band painted with other coats of arms of Vicars that took place between 400 and 700. In various eras the coats of arms of the Vicars had been randomly painted on the walls of the hall, then, on the occasion of the works that affected the palace starting from 1719, at the time of the Vicar Giovanni Gori, it was wanted to give them, repainting them on the new plaster, a certain order.
